Whether your child is six or 16, it’s never too early to talk about body image and eating behaviours. The Jessie’s Legacy website has articles, factsheets, prevention toolkits, and tips to help you support your child and encourage a healthy body image.

It’s not always easy to tell someone you’re struggling with eating or body image issues, but it’s so important to reach out for help. Start by talking to a parent, teacher or adult you trust. You can also reach out to us by phone or email if you have any questions or are looking for resources and supports in your area.

I’M HERE FOR: MY STUDENTS OR MY CLIENTS

Jessie’s Legacy provides evidence-based education, resources, and information you can trust. We also have guidelines for how to help when you suspect a student might have an eating disorder, plus information about body image and self-esteem, disordered eating, media literacy and more. We also offer prevention presentations for grades 4-12, get in touch with us to find out more about how we can support our students or clients.

Jessie’s Legacy also presents the annual Provincial Eating Disorders Awareness (PEDAW) campaign. This week-long campaign includes province wide activities, events, and awareness raising through media. Our PEDAW toolkit provides opportunities for schools and other community organizations to get involved and raise awareness about eating disorders.
