The Healthy Attitudes Program is a prevention and early intervention program for ED Behaviour. It provides free individual counselling and nutrition services for ages 11 to 19 residing in Vancouver who are experiencing body image issues and/or displaying early eating disorder behaviours. Team includes a nurse, doctor, counsellor, and dietitian. Accepts self-referrals and referrals from other care providers.

 

All clients will meet with members of the team initially and ongoing sessions will be with the counsellor and dietitian. There is no time limit for the program and all sessions are confidential.

 

What types of problems can we address?

  • Preoccupations with issues of body image and size
  • Concerns about being too fat or too thin
  • Feelings of guilt or shame about eating or feeling a loss of control over eating
  • Obsessions with exercise or body appearance
