Companioning Community Care

Welcome to Companioning Community Care, a volunteer program which offers on-site and in home programs for adults directly affected by life limiting illness, cancer treatment, bereavement or disability. Click here to view our volunteers and their work in the community.

 If you, a family member, friend or client are living with side effects of cancer treatment, advanced illness, bereavement or disability, and you live or work on the North Shore, you may be eligible for support through the Companioning Community Care program. Please call 604-985-8713 to initiate your request.


Companioning Community Care volunteers are selected for their suitability to offering support through difficult times. All volunteers undergo a criminal record check and training in a variety of topics including communication, personal boundaries, palliative care, death and dying, supporting people with disabilities, spiritual care, grief and loss and self-care.
