If you are struggling with the loss of someone close, our ongoing support group can guide you through the process of grieving in a safe and nurturing setting with others who have also experienced loss. Who can attend the Grief Support Group?
Adults (19 and up) who live or work on the North Shore and have experienced the loss of a family member, partner or friend.

How long should I wait after the loss of someone before attending a group?
Each person is unique, however, most people find it is best to wait two or three months until they are ready to share their loss in a group setting.

How many people attend each Grief Support Group?
Usually 8 to 10 people.

What happens if I can’t attend a session?
No worries if you can't attend a session. The group is ongoing and we look forward to seeing you at the next session.

What happens during the group?
Each session is an opportunity for people to share how they are doing that week and explore topics such as realistic expectations of grief and the mourner’s bill of rights.
